Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Cybercrime Police successfully uncovered 18 cybercrime cases within the week of July 22 to July 28, resulting in the arrest of 31 people from different states. This operation revealed a vast network involved in cybercrime activities nationwide.
Among those arrested, 19 were involved in trading fraud, which was the most common type of crime. The cases included eight related to trading fraud, two each for part-time job scams, digital arrest fraud, fake customer care service fraud, and vishing. Additionally, individual cases of gaming fraud and loan fraud were reported.
Nine members of a gang were detained and are now in judicial custody for plotting and executing cybercrimes.
During the crackdown, police seized two cars, one laptop, 32 mobile phones, seven cheque books, a SIM card, and Rs 82,500 in cash.
Furthermore, the Cybercrime Police secured 283 refund orders from the court across 60 cases, enabling the return of Rs 1,20,77,214 to victims.
