Warangal: The Congress Government is focused on developing Warangal as the second capital of the state, according to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. On Sunday, the minister, along with Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy and Mayor Gundu Sudharani, visited the Bhadrakali Bund Promenade in Hanumakonda to check the progress of ongoing work.

After offering prayers at the Bhadrakali temple, the minister spoke to the media. He mentioned that the construction of Mada Streets would be sped up, and the Bhadrakali Temple would be developed according to traditional Agama Sastra principles. He assured that all necessary facilities would be provided for devotees coming from nearby districts like Khammam, Karimnagar, Medak, and Nizamabad.

The minister also shared that the temple lake would be desilted to restore it to full capacity. Additionally, the government has approved Rs 158 crore to address flooding issues from Bondivagu and Bhadrakali nalahs.

Ponguleti further stated that the government would take action against those who have illegally occupied lake land after conducting a proper survey. He also revealed that the Warangal Master Plan, which outlines development plans for the city until 2051, is ready.

The minister announced that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will soon unveil new measures for Warangal’s development when he inaugurates the Kaloji Kalakshetram, a multipurpose convention center. Ponguleti also mentioned that the Mamnoor Airport revival project has cleared several roadblocks, and now it is up to the central government to move it forward.

Wardhannapet MLA K R Nagaraju, MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, and district collectors of Hanumakonda and Warangal, P Pravinya and Satya Sarada, were also present during the visit.

Later in the day, Ponguleti attended the wedding of Telangana State Co-operative Oil Seeds Growers Federation (TSCOGF) Limited chairman Janga Raghava Reddy’s daughter in Madikonda.
