The chief priest of Chilkur Balaji temple in Hyderabad administered polio drops to children to kick off the day-long ‘Pulse Polio’ program. Special camps were also set up at bus stands, railway stations, and other public places for the same purpose.

On National Immunisation Day, which was on March 3, children who missed receiving the polio vaccine must be vaccinated within the next two days through door-to-door visits. The Health department officials are striving to ensure that all children are covered in the pulse polio campaign.

Health workers, Anganwadi staff, and volunteers are actively participating in the program to reach children in remote villages, hilly areas, tribal communities, and fishing villages. This ambitious project requires the involvement of all stakeholders to be successful.
