Hyderabad: On Sunday, the Congress party’s Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) in the state advised Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy to change his approach. Committee chairman Mallu Ravi warned that if Rajgopal Reddy continues to criticize the Chief Minister, action will follow. This came after Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president B Mahesh Kumar Goud referred the issue to the DAC. Mallu Ravi and the committee discussed the matter at Gandhi Bhavan.
Mallu Ravi stated that the PCC chief had a detailed conversation with Rajgopal Reddy about his comments. They explored options to prevent the situation from escalating. The committee decided to advise him to refrain from making such statements again. Mallu Ravi emphasized that repeated offenses would lead to disciplinary measures.
Rajgopal Reddy had earlier voiced his dissatisfaction with the Congress leadership in Telangana, particularly about the distribution of funds to his constituency. He claimed that funds were being redirected to areas of influential leaders, neglecting Munugode. His remarks during the Independence Day celebrations were seen as indirect criticism of the Chief Minister, causing concern within the party.
On Saturday, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) sent the issue regarding Rajgopal Reddy’s comments to the party’s disciplinary committee, led by Mallu Ravi. Mahesh Kumar Goud mentioned that the committee would review the context of the statements before deciding on further action. Political analysts believe Rajgopal Reddy’s open discontent with party leadership highlights internal conflicts within the Telangana Congress.
Regarding issues among Warangal’s senior leaders, Mallu Ravi noted that four party members would be dispatched to Warangal to assess the situation. Their names will be chosen by the party’s high command. Amidst accusations from Warangal leaders, the party plans to evaluate responses from both sides before making a decision.
