Hyderabad: In a major relief for plot owners, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has taken down the list of prohibited layouts from its website. The move comes after HMDA clarified that some of the layouts on the list were mistakenly marked as prohibited, including those over 20 years old that received legal Gram Panchayat permissions before HMDA was established.

HMDA explained that the IT department inadvertently uploaded older layouts onto the prohibited list. The authority confirmed that layouts with legitimate approvals from Gram Panchayats before HMDA’s formation are not illegal and should not have been included on the list.

The issue caused widespread concern after hundreds of layouts in Rangareddy, Shamshabad, Shamirpet, and other areas appeared on the prohibited list a few days ago. The news went viral, sparking anxiety among plot owners who feared their properties might be deemed unauthorized.
