Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is heading to New Delhi on a four-day visit to seek approval from the Congress High Command for the expansion of the State cabinet. The visit begins today and will also include attending private functions and official meetings with Union Ministers.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to attend a private event in Jaipur on December 11. Following this, he will stay in Delhi for three days to participate in both official and party-related engagements. Since he has completed one year in office, Revanth Reddy plans to meet key Congress leaders, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi.

During his visit, the CM will present an annual progress report of his government’s performance to the Congress High Command. He will also discuss his administration’s future plans to accelerate development in Telangana. The much-anticipated cabinet expansion, which has been delayed for months, will be a major topic of discussion during these meetings.

Party sources revealed that the cabinet expansion is expected to take place within the next two weeks. Six vacant ministerial posts are likely to be filled, with senior leaders such as P. Sudhardhan Reddy, Mohd Ali Shabbir, K. Premsagar Rao, and Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy among the potential candidates. The delay in the cabinet reshuffle has reportedly increased pressure on the party leadership, and further postponement could harm the party’s standing.

Apart from the cabinet expansion, the CM will also discuss other critical issues with the AICC leaders. These include filling nominated posts, preparing for local body elections in 2025, and strengthening the Congress at the district level.

On the administrative front, Revanth Reddy will meet Union Ministers to seek clearances for pending projects and push for the release of funds for various departments in Telangana. These efforts aim to ensure smoother governance and accelerated development in the state.
