Hyderabad: The Congress party in Hyderabad plans a major political move to weaken the influence of the BRS party by using the Justice Ghose Commission report on the Kaleshwaram project. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has crafted a strategy aimed at BRS leader K Chandrashekar Rao and senior figures KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, focusing on alleged scams during the BRS regime.
The report reveals failures in the costly Kaleshwaram project, and Congress is using this information to challenge the BRS. They have shared parts of the 665-page report, accusing KCR of involvement in irregularities and using poor materials in construction.
Revanth Reddy plans to challenge KCR to discuss the report in the Legislative Assembly and take action from there. With local elections approaching, Congress is gearing its campaign around the Kaleshwaram issue, blaming KCR and his family for the alleged mishaps.
Recently, Congress struggled to gain public support amid BRS’s strong social media presence. Despite launching many welfare and development programs, Congress couldn’t secure a solid position. Now, party leaders believe the Kaleshwaram findings could help weaken the BRS.
“The Chief Minister is reluctant to hold local elections due to internal pressures. However, the party is ready to unite and face the elections confidently. The upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election is crucial for Revanth Reddy,” party insiders mentioned.
