Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be seeking medical advice from sports orthopedics in Mumbai for his left knee injury before deciding on treatment options, according to CEO Kasi Viswanathan. Dhoni played the entire IPL season with a heavily strapped left knee, batting as low as No.8 and not looking swift while running between wickets. If surgery is advised, Viswanathan said it will be completely Dhoni’s call. There is speculation that Dhoni may decide against playing next season, but Viswanathan said they are not thinking on those lines yet. CSK were not big on celebrations after winning their fifth IPL title, and their hallmark over the years has been keeping things simple and explaining every player what is expected of them.
