Shubman Gill scored his first-ever IPL hundred during a match between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad. After losing Wriddhiman Saha early in the innings, Gill and Sai Sudarshan put together a crucial partnership for Gujarat, with Gill scoring 100 runs in just 56 balls, including 13 fours and one six. He is now leading the orange cap standings of the ongoing season, and has become the first Gujarat Titans batter to score a hundred in IPL. Gill was eventually dismissed on 101 by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Social media users were quick to praise the 23-year-old flamboyant batter for his impressive performance. Gill has now joined the elite list of players who have an ODI 200, T20I 100, and an IPL 100, which includes Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma. Netizens also hailed him as a “generational talent” and congratulated him on his achievement.
