Former India cricketers Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan have criticized Sunrisers Hyderabad for not using fast bowler Umran Malik effectively in this year’s IPL. Malik only played seven games and took five wickets, despite having a successful IPL season last year and making his India debut. Zaheer Khan felt that Malik didn’t get proper guidance from the team and wasn’t utilized well, while Irfan Pathan was surprised that the league’s fastest bowler was sitting out. Sunrisers Hyderabad have been eliminated from the IPL 2023 playoffs race.
