Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has unveiled an ambitious proposal to establish the world’s first “Swiss Mall” in Hyderabad during his visit to the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos, Switzerland. The innovative retail concept aims to bring Swiss excellence in hospitality, fashion, and tourism to India’s technology capital.
The proposal was formally discussed during a bilateral meeting between CM Revanth Reddy and Christelle Luisier Brodard, Chief Minister of the Swiss canton of Vaud. The meeting formed part of broader discussions on strengthening cooperation between Telangana and Switzerland across multiple sectors.
The Swiss Mall concept envisions a premium retail destination featuring Swiss brands, hospitality experiences, fashion outlets, food avenues, and tourism facilities. The project is designed to enhance Hyderabad’s urban retail landscape while attracting direct foreign investment and establishing global partnerships with Swiss companies.
During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy presented the state’s investment potential under the “Telangana Rising 2047” vision. He explained various development and business opportunities available in the state to the Swiss delegation, which reportedly responded positively to the proposal.
The discussions extended beyond retail to cover potential collaborations in culture, education, skilling, hospitality training, and sports development. Both sides explored opportunities for knowledge exchange and capacity building programs that could benefit Telangana’s workforce and infrastructure development.
A Swiss team is expected to visit Hyderabad in the coming months to conduct a detailed feasibility study of the proposed investment. The visit will assess collaboration opportunities and examine the practical aspects of establishing the Swiss Mall in the city.
The Swiss delegation expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Telangana, with the state government emphasizing its business-friendly policies and infrastructure readiness to support international partnerships and large-scale retail projects.
