Telangana government offers compensation to victims of Gulzar house fire

A devastating fire broke out in the Gulzar Houz area near Charminar in Hyderabad, claiming the lives of 17 people. In response, the Telangana state government has promised financial help to the victims’ families.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced that each grieving family will receive ₹5 lakh as compensation. He shared these details during a press briefing and offered his deep condolences on behalf of the government.

After the tragic event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ordered an immediate inspection of the site. He was joined by Deputy CM Bhatti, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and Minister Damodar Rajnarsimha. They met officials and assessed the damage firsthand.

Early investigations suggest that a short circuit might have triggered the fire. Emergency services received the alert at 6:16 AM. A fire engine from Mogalura reached the scene by 6:20 AM, starting the rescue efforts within minutes.

In total, 11 fire engines, a firefighting robot, and 70 fire personnel were involved in the operation. Their quick response prevented the situation from worsening further.

Deputy CM Bhatti called the incident “very unfortunate” and assured the public that the government stands firmly with the victims’ families. He confirmed that Chief Minister Reddy is holding talks with multiple departments to make sure all necessary steps are taken for a full response and to prevent such tragedies in the future.

The government continues to monitor the situation as the investigation unfolds.
