The minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, wants to improve the Mamnoor Airport. Right now, the airport is only 706 acres, but it needs to be bigger according to the Airports Authority of India. The Warangal District Collector, P Pravinya, has a plan to acquire 249.33 acres in Nakkalapalli, Gadepally, and Mamnoor villages under Warangal Fort mandal. This expansion will allow Mamunur Airport to become an A-320 facility.

However, the government needs to compensate the farmers for the 249.33 acres that will be acquired. The plan is to transfer 373.02 acres of land from PV Narasimha Rao Animal Husbandry University to the farmers. The minister has agreed to take the proposal to the Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, and discuss it with higher officials.
