Another child mauled to death by stray dogs in Kazipet, Telangana

A tragic incident occurred in Hanamkonda district on Friday morning. An eight-year-old boy named Chotu was sleeping under a tree when a pack of stray dogs attacked him. The boy’s parents had gone to the toilet, leaving Chotu alone. When they returned, they found their son lying in a pool of blood. They rushed him to the hospital, but it was too late. Chotu had died on the spot.

Chotu’s family was from Uttar Pradesh and had arrived in Kazipet on Thursday night. They were on their way to Ajmer. The incident has left the family devastated. Government officials and the mayor visited the hospital to offer condolences.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in Telangana. In the last four months, at least four children have lost their lives and several others injured in stray dog attacks across the state. The municipality had announced measures to check the menace of stray dogs, but citizens say the measures had no impact on the ground.

The incident has shocked people across the state. It is the second incident in Warangal district and followed by a four-year-old boy’s death in Hyderabad on February 19. A five-year-old boy also succumbed to rabies in Khammam district in March after being bitten by stray dogs.
