Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, recently spoke at the Atmeeya Sammelanam of the BRS cadres at Vadde Kothapally village under Vanagara mandal in Jangaon district. During his speech, he highlighted the efforts of the Telangana Government towards the agriculture sector. He stated that no other State in the country was paying Rs 10,000 per acre crop compensation to farmers who lost their standing crops due to untimely rains. This is significantly higher than the normal compensation amount of Rs 3,000 per acre paid by other governments. The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had announced this compensation amount after inspecting crops affected by untimely rain and hailstorm.

The government is also extending a financial assistance of Rs 10,000 per acre per year under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. He added that land values in the State have gone up with the government ensuring irrigation facilities, referring to the construction of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).
