Ice apples are a popular cool fruit that floods the market from March to June in Karimnagar city. People love ice apples because they are a natural coolant that helps prevent dehydration and heat strokes during the hot summer months. Ice apple vendors can make good money selling the fruit, which is in high demand.
Thipparaboinachandhu, an ice apple vendor, said that they used to sell ice apples for Rs100 per dozen and earn Rs1,000 to Rs1,200 per day during the summer season. This year, the business is doing even better thanks to the high temperatures.
Residents of Karimnagar city, like Thaduri Ravi Kumar, have noticed that there are ample quantities of ice apples on the streets but it is becoming difficult to find the nutritious fruit in the city markets.
Dr. Srija, a medical PG student, explained that ice apples are an excellent coolant that naturally cools the body and regulates body temperature. They also quench thirst and provide energy throughout the day. Ice apples contain minerals, sugars, fiber, protein, vitamins C, E, A, K and B7, and iron which offer many health benefits.
