    Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao announces establishment of 7,000 paddy procurement centres in the state

    The State government in Telangana has opened 7,000 centres to buy paddy from farmers who grew it during the Rabi season. The Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, has said that paddy production in the State has increased to 1.41 crore metric tonnes from 24 lakh metric tonnes. In total, paddy cultivation has increased to 65 lakh acres from 3 lakh acres. The government will spend Rs 15 crore to buy the paddy this year. The support price of paddy is Rs 2,060 for A Grade and Rs 2,040 for B Grade. Errabelli has said that no other State in the country is as supportive of agriculture as Telangana. He has asked people to compare the benefits they received in the united Andhra Pradesh and now.

    Errabelli has also reminded officials to speed up the procurement of paddy. Later, he distributed clothes to Muslims ahead of Ramzan. Errabelli has emphasized that Telangana is a secular State where all religions are respected equally.
