Nama Nageswara Rao, MP and chairman of the Disha committee, has asked railway officials to construct a new railway line from Papatapalli to Miryalaguda without harming the people and farmers of Khammam district. He spoke at a Disha meeting held at the Collectorate on Thursday, saying that the new railway line would cause problems for people in 12 Gram Panchayats in Khammam rural, Mudigonda, and Nelakondapalli mandals in the district. Representatives from these villages met with him and explained the issues. He has written letters to Railway Minister and other officials asking them to resolve the issue.

Nama Nageswara Rao has also urged the Union Minister of Railways to consider constructing the new railway line without touching Khammam district as many small and marginal farmers would lose their fertile lands and properties too. He has sent proposals for laying new roads and bypasses to the Union government with an estimated cost of Rs 2,114 crore in the district. With his efforts, Khammam to Kuravi national highway was sanctioned with Rs 124.80 crore and works are going on at a brisk pace. He is working to keep Khammam district on top in the state with the best Industrial Policy. MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, ZP Chariman Lingala Kamalaraj, Wyra MLA L Ramulunaik, and other officials participated in the meeting.
