The Tourism Minister of Hyderabad, V Srinivas Goud, announced on Saturday that plans are underway to host a music festival featuring renowned music director SS Thaman, drummer Shivamani, singer Karthik, flutist Naveen, and 300 other artists as part of the grand celebrations for ‘World Heritage Day’ on April 18 at Ramappa temple. The Minister unveiled the poster for the event and emphasized the rich cultural, traditional, and historical heritage of Telangana State, which had been neglected by earlier rulers. He also highlighted the need for conservation and recognition of 10 to 15 other historical and heritage buildings and places in the state, which were eligible for UNESCO recognition. The Minister expressed regret that the Ramappa temple had not been recognized earlier as a UNESCO world heritage building, which would have helped spread the history, culture, and traditions of Telangana to the world and attracted more foreign tourists to the state.
