The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has proposed to restore a 300-year-old stepwell located in the Falaknuma Bus Depot. The stepwell was used as a personal swimming pool by the Nizam and is located close to the Falaknuma Palace. To accomplish this restoration, HMDA will be working with GHMC, TSRTC, and The Rainwater Project, a social enterprise dedicated to providing sustainable water management practices.

On Wednesday, SAHE, an NGO working for lakes, along with TSRTC, HMDA, and GHMC signed an MoU for the restoration of the stepwell. This project is part of HMDA’s broader initiative to restore stepwells in and around the city of Hyderabad.
