In Telangana, incidents of stray dogs attacking both humans and animals have been on the rise. Recently, a pack of street dogs attacked a herd of sheep belonging to Kondaveni Komuraiah in Ambaripet village, resulting in the death of 20 sheep and injuries to five others. The incident occurred at 2:30 am on a Sunday. Komuraiah stated that the injured sheep were in critical condition and each sheep costs over Rs 50,000. This incident is not isolated, as on March 28, nine sheep were killed and a few others injured in a street dog attack in Muthyampet of Mallapur mandal. Similarly, on March 21, about 19 sheep were killed and four were injured in an attack by street dogs in Komatikondapur of Ibrahimpatnam mandal.

The locals have expressed concern over the menace of street dogs and are urging officials to take necessary measures to address the issue. In the case of the sheep attacks, the shepherds have appealed to officials for compensation for their losses. In response, veterinary doctors have visited the affected areas and provided treatment to the injured animals. It is important to address this issue promptly to prevent further harm to both humans and animals.
