Supreme Court Orders TS Police to Halt Probe into MLAs’ Poaching Allegations
The Supreme Court has issued a warning to the Telangana police to not continue their investigation into the alleged conspiracy by the Bharatiya Janata Party to poach Telangana’s Bharati Rashtra Samiti legislators. This comes after a division bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and MM Sundresh cautioned the Central Bureau of Investigation to not continue their investigation into the same matter a few days prior.
The division bench was hearing the state police’s plea against a decision made by the Telangana High Court to transfer the probe into the conspiracy from a special investigation team appointed by the state government to the CBI. During the hearing, Justice Khanna made it clear that the Telangana police should not continue their investigation.
Senior advocate Dushyant Dave, who was representing the state police, assured the bench that the investigation had been put on hold due to the matter being sub judice. He also mentioned that the investigation had been stopped long ago.
This decision by the Supreme Court has implications for the ongoing investigation into the alleged conspiracy and highlights the need for proper legal procedures to be followed in such cases.
