The rift between Uttam and Revanth intensifies with new developments.

The tension between two Congress leaders in Telangana, N Uttam Kumar Reddy and A Revanth Reddy, has escalated. Revanth decided to hold a rally and meeting for unemployed people at Mahatma Gandhi University in Nalgonda, which is under Uttam’s Lok Sabha constituency. This decision upset Uttam, who complained to the party high command that Revanth did not inform local party officials about the event. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) asked Revanth to cancel the programme. Uttam is unhappy with Revanth’s leadership as he is promoting his group leaders in the assembly segments where Uttam has a strong hold. Revanth’s supporters have been holding separate Congress meetings in Kodad, Huzurnagar, and other Assembly segments under the Nalgonda LS Parliamentary seat. Uttam has told Revanth to stay away from party affairs in his Assembly segments.

Uttam did not invite Revanth to his Iftar party hosted in Huzurnagar on Tuesday as retaliation for Revanth’s group politics in his Lok Sabha segment. Revanth has also not been attending party programmes conducted in Uttam’s areas. Sources say that Revanth plans to field his close aides as party candidates in many Assembly segments in the Nalgonda LS constituency in the next elections. Uttam is making political moves with the help of the party high command to counter Revanth’s domination.
