TSRTC staff members’ union increases pitch for pay alteration
Hyderabad: The State- possessed Telangana State Road Transport Corporation Employees’ Union prompted the State government to execute the pay alteration for the staff members of the general public transportation entity on the same level with the State government staff members as well as various other State- run public fields. The pay alteration for the TSRTC staff members was last performed in 2017.
According to RTC unions, motorists as well as conductors amount ‘Class 3’ of government staff members, while the cleansers are ‘Class 4’. Their pays, nevertheless, do not match with various other employees at the very same degree in various other government as well as State- possessed public fields.
Former board of supervisor of APSRTC as well as profession union leader M Nageswara Rao claimed, “Salaries of the employees are less than that of a government employee on the same level. Even the routine pay revision, which should come every four years, was also delayed by the government. We demanded the government for the revision of pay scale and make it on par with the other government departments and State-run public sectors.”
The last alteration of pay range was done on April 1, 2017 as well as with the gap of 6 years the pay range was not modified by thegovernment However, the alteration was to be performed in 2020 yet still the long-awaited pay alteration with fitment is yet to be executed for the RTC staff members.
“The basic pay for the RTC employees is Rs 10,880. While, the other State-run public sector like TS Electricity department employee’s minimum pay scale is Rs 23,380. Why is the basic pay of RTC employees so low even when both the RTC employee and the State-run public sector employee come under the public sector and perform eight hours of duty every day. The TS electricity department received another revision of pay scale in April 2022, but there was no revision given for the TSRTC,” regreted Nageswara.”
For the RTC employees at the entry-level, the basic pay is Rs 10,880. Over and above, they have Dearness Allowances (DA), which will add about 5.3 per cent more to the salary every six months. However, for the last six terms, there were no DA given to the employees. “Since 2017, the price of living has actually raised as well as we staff members are still getting the 6-year- old pay range without allocations. We advise the State government to change the pay range as well as raise it on the same level with the various other market staff members as well as likewise require the government to launch the DA quantity pending because the last 6 terms,” prompted staff members.
