The Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadadri-Bhongir has been hit by a series of drowning incidents in the temple pond, causing panic among the authorities. The latest incident occurred on Tuesday, when a 16-year-old boy drowned in the Lakshmi Pushkarini while taking a bath. The victim hailed from Amarachinthala of Athmakur mandal in Wanaparthy district and had visited the temple with his mother on Monday evening.

According to sources, the boy suffered seizures while bathing in the pond on Tuesday morning, leading to his drowning. Further details on the incident are awaited. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred at the temple pond. In May 2022, a 15-year-old girl from Hyderabad also drowned in the same pond, while a 19-year-old youngster met with a similar fate in September last year.
