TGSPDCL quickly restores power after heavy rains

Heavy rains hit Greater Hyderabad on Thursday, damaging 57 electricity poles and 44 distribution transformers. The worst-hit areas included several city circles.

In Hyderabad Central Circle, seven transformers and 23 poles were damaged. In Hyderabad South Circle, 11 transformers and 15 poles were affected. Secunderabad Circle saw damage to five transformers. Saroor Nagar Circle had 14 damaged transformers and three poles. In Habsiguda, seven transformers and seven poles were damaged.

Despite the widespread damage, electricity staff worked all night to fix the issues. They managed to replace the broken poles and transformers by morning, restoring power quickly.

TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Faruqui praised the staff for their hard work. He said there has been a big improvement in how field workers and officials respond to emergencies. He noted that they stayed in the field, oversaw repair work, and checked power stations.

Faruqui encouraged the teams to keep up the good work in the future, especially during natural disasters, and to continue providing reliable service to customers.
