Hyderabad: The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) is actively encouraging the setup of Electric Vehicle Public Charging Stations (EV PCS). This initiative is part of the Central government’s “Pradhan Mantri Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE)” scheme.
On Tuesday morning, Musharraf Faruqui, who is the Chairman and Managing Director of TGSPDCL, checked the Telangana Secretariat parking areas. He was assessing where they could place EV charging stations.
The CMD mentioned that those who install EV PCS in key cities and industrial areas in the state can receive a subsidy. This subsidy ranges from 70% to 100%, based on the location’s category. Last week, the CMD and the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of REDCO met with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to discuss this plan.
To make registration easier, a new feature has been added to the SASA mobile application. Interested parties can contact their local Assistant Engineer, who will visit the site and update the app with the necessary information.
