Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is gearing up for the Bathukamma and Dussehra festivals by enhancing transportation services. They plan to run 7,754 special buses throughout the state, ensuring passengers can travel safely and conveniently during the festive period.
The festivals are on September 30th for Saddula Bathukamma and October 2nd for Dussehra, with increased travel expected from September 27th. To manage the crowd, extra buses will be available, and return services are planned for October 5th and 6th.
About 377 special services are already booked in advance. Buses will operate from major terminals like MGBS, JBS, and CBS in Hyderabad and high-demand areas such as KPHB Colony, Uppal Cross Roads, Dilsukhnagar, and LB Nagar. Routes will also extend to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
While regular bus fares stay the same, ticket prices for Dussehra specials will increase due to higher diesel costs from empty return trips. This price change applies to buses running from September 20th to 27th and on October 1st, 5th, and 6th.
TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar announced that the company is focused on safe, comfortable travel during the festivals. They have arranged 617 more special buses compared to last year. Special camps in busy areas will offer facilities like seating, water, and public address systems for travelers.
Monitoring officers will be stationed in crowded places to manage bus schedules based on demand. The TGSRTC is working with police, transport, and municipal departments to ensure all passengers travel safely to their destinations.
