Tolichowki Police Arrest Housemaid in Gold Theft Case, Recover ₹5 Lakh Worth Ornaments

The Tolichowki Police Station has successfully cracked a servant theft case, apprehending a female accused and recovering 45 grams of gold ornaments valued at approximately ₹5,00,000.

The case was registered as Cr. No. 249/2025 under Section 306 BNS following a complaint filed on 04 December 2025 by Sri Iqbal Ahmed, a resident of Satva Magnus in Tolichowki. Ahmed reported that gold ornaments had gone missing from his residence.

Acting swiftly on credible intelligence, the police team traced and apprehended the accused on 06 December 2025 at OM Jewellers, Tolichowki. All stolen property was recovered from her possession during the arrest.

The accused has been identified as Smt. Madhuri Anuradha, a 39-year-old housemaid residing in MG Nagar, Hyderabad. She had been working at the complainant’s residence and allegedly took advantage of her position to commit the theft.

The recovered items include:

  • One gold chain with pendant
  • A pair of gold earrings
  • One gold ear stud
  • One gold ring with diamond
  • Four gold bangles

The total weight of the recovered gold ornaments amounts to 45 grams or 4.5 tulas.

The successful detection and resolution of the case was achieved through the diligent efforts of SHO L. Ramesh Naik, Additional Inspector G. Balraj, SIP G. Raghavendra, and the Crime Team of Tolichowki Police Station.

The investigation was conducted under the direct supervision of ACP Syed Fiaz of the Tolichowki Division. The swift action by the police team, from receiving the complaint to apprehending the accused within two days, demonstrates the effectiveness of the local law enforcement.

The case highlights the importance of thorough background verification for domestic help and maintaining vigilance regarding household valuables. The police have completed the recovery of all stolen property, which will be returned to the rightful owner following legal procedures.

The accused is currently in police custody, and further investigation is underway. The case was officially confirmed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Tolichowki Division.
