An Excise Task Force and Huzurnagar Excise Police uncovered a fake liquor operation in Ramapuram village of Mellacheruvu mandal. Led by Task Force Superintendent Anjireddy and Huzurnagar Excise CI Nagarjuna Reddy, they carried out raids at multiple locations.

Authorities seized counterfeit liquor valued at about Rs 15 lakh. They also found spirit and empty bottles used to make the fake alcohol. This spirit could produce liquor worth Rs 2 crore.

The confiscated items were taken to Huzurnagar Excise Police Station for further investigation. Six people were charged, and two were arrested, while four remain at large. The group distributed fake liquor throughout Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, using spirit from Hyderabad and selling it under well-known brand names. Shankar, the main suspect and a liquor counter operator in Mellacheruvu, allegedly worked with others to run this illegal business. They previously sold fake liquor in Markapuram, Repalle, and Amalapuram in Andhra Pradesh.
