Hyderabad:
A court in Nampally, Hyderabad, has sentenced a man named Mohd Fareed, aged 45, to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The judgment was delivered on Wednesday.
Along with the prison sentence, the court also ordered Fareed to pay a fine of ₹10,000. He was arrested in 2020 by the Bahadurpura police. Fareed is a resident of Bushrath Nagar, Nawab Saheb Kunta, Hyderabad.
In a separate case, the Fast Track Special Court in LB Nagar sentenced a 20-year-old man, J. Sai Kiran, to one year of rigorous imprisonment. Sai Kiran, a resident of Balaji Hill Colony in Medchal, was found guilty of harassing and misbehaving with a minor girl in 2018 under the pretense of love.
The court also fined Sai Kiran ₹2,000 and granted the victim ₹50,000 as compensation. Sai Kiran was arrested by the Saroornagar police following the incident.
