Despite Hardik Pandya continuing as skipper for the team’s second IPL season, Gill is reportedly seen as a leader within the core group. Solanki praised Gill’s leadership qualities, citing his responsible conduct, professional attitude and smart cricketing brain. Gill, who finished just four runs behind Pandya in the list of highest run-getters last year, is expected to continue contributing to the team’s success in the upcoming season. The Gujarat Titans will open their campaign against Chennai Super Kings on March 31.
