Hyderabad: N Ramachander Rao, leader of Telangana BJP, criticized the Congress government for not maintaining rural roads, causing inconvenience. He accused them of ignoring farmers affected by floods that destroyed crops over vast areas without compensation. Rao spoke on Sunday in Jogipet at the Dasara Alai–Balai event, organized by former MP B.B. Patil. The gathering included key leaders and party members from Zaheerabad, Narayankhed, and Andole.
During his first visit to Sangareddy district, Rao expressed happiness at meeting locals. He used the spirit of Dasara, a festival symbolizing good’s victory over evil, to draw comparisons to the current political situation. He stressed that votes are the tool to combat poor governance.
Rao criticized the unfulfilled BC Declaration promises by Congress in Kamareddy. He praised the Narendra Modi government’s projects like ‘Har Ghar Jal’, free rice, village crematoriums, Haritha Haram, and road improvements, funded by the central government.
He accused the state of financial mismanagement, claiming it can’t pay employees and misused central funds for village councils. Rao alleged this led to distress among village leaders, with some committing suicide. He urged for immediate local elections, arguing they enable true village governance. He condemned Congress for delaying these elections after terms expired.
Rao also called for 42% reservations for Backward Classes and constitutional status for the BC Commission, crediting these to the Modi administration. He urged voters to reject Congress and BRS, claiming they lack moral authority. Rao encouraged citizens to support BJP candidates for real progress in Telangana.
