With the U.S. presidential elections over and Donald Trump set to return to the White House on January 20, it is time to take action against harmful extremist elements like Jihadis and terrorists. Many nations around the world are now united in their determination to deal with these dangerous groups.

Countries from different regions, including Israel, Russia, Europe, Asia, Africa, and even China, are facing threats from these extremists. These groups preach hatred and violence, and there is no reason to show them any mercy.

The major world powers are standing together to fight Jihadi ideologies. India should also join this global effort to protect itself and its people.

Time to Change the Ideology in India

In India, many believe it is time to rethink the country’s direction. Some argue that the current secularism in the Constitution was imposed and that the government should officially declare India a Hindu nation. This change is seen as necessary for the country’s future.

Supreme Court Revisits the Right to Property

On October 5, a nine-judge bench of the Supreme Court ruled that not all privately owned properties can be classified as “community resources.” This decision changes the earlier judgement from 1978, which had allowed private properties to be treated as resources for the community.

Madrasa Act Upheld, But Limits on Degrees

The Supreme Court also upheld the validity of a 2004 Uttar Pradesh law regulating Muslim minority educational institutions. However, the Court ruled that these institutions cannot offer graduation or post-graduation degrees.

Police Cannot Interfere in Property Disputes

In another important judgement, the Supreme Court ruled that the police cannot take control of property while a civil dispute is being settled. The Court also noted that it is not the role of the courts to act as “recovery agents” without a proper trial.

Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud Retires

Dr. D Y Chandrachud, the 50th Chief Justice of India, retired on November 10 at the age of 65. He will be remembered for his humane approach and deep understanding of the law. Justice Sanjiv Khanna will take over as the 51st Chief Justice of India on November 11.

Bail Hearings Should Be Short

On November 8, the Supreme Court stated that bail hearings should be brief, ideally taking about 10 minutes. The Court emphasized that personal freedom and liberty are important constitutional rights, and long hearings should be avoided.
