The Indian Navy will soon acquire 13 Lynx-U2 fire control systems, as the Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for their procurement. The deal is worth over Rs 1,700 crore and falls under the Buy Indian – IDDM (Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured) RHL category. The Lynx-U2 system is a naval gun fire control system that has been designed and developed in India. It is capable of accurately tracking and engaging targets amidst sea clutter, as well as air or surface targets. The system will significantly enhance the Navy’s capabilities in terms of defence and protection. The Indian Army also participated in the exercise with over 900 troops, which included special forces, artillery, and armoured vehicles.
