There has been continued fighting between the Sudanese Army and paramilitary forces in Sudan, and this week embassies of Kuwait and Jordan were reportedly attacked. The Kuwaiti foreign ministry reported that the residence of the head of the military office in its embassy in Khartoum was stormed and vandalized, while the Jordanian embassy building was raided and vandalized. The Saudi Arabian Cultural Attache office was also looted and attacked earlier this month, with property stolen, systems disabled and servers damaged.

The fighting has been ongoing since April 15, with battles erupting between army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his former deputy Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, who leads the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. Almost a month of heavy fighting has turned Khartoum into a war zone, with over 700,000 people internally displaced and nearly 200,000 having fled to neighbouring countries. Around 1,000 people have been killed, mainly in and around Khartoum as well as the ravaged state of West Darfur.
