Indian students applying for US visas will now have to pay approximately Rs 15,100, as per current exchange rates. The United States has announced an increase in visa fees for certain non-immigrant visa applications from $160 to $185, effective from May 30. The fee hike will be applicable to visitor visas for business or tourism, student visas and exchange visitor visas. The US has also increased fees for certain petition-based non-immigrant visas for temporary workers. The fees for most non-petition based NIVs were last updated in 2012 and some other NIV fees were last updated in 2014. Other consular fees are not affected by this rule.
