Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has made a controversial statement, referring to ousted prime minister Imran Khan as an “enemy” of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N). Sanaullah, who is close to former premier Nawaz Sharif, stated that Khan had taken the country’s politics to a point where “either he (Imran) will get murdered or us”. The remarks sparked an outcry among political circles, particularly within Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf party. Khan had previously accused Sanaullah of being behind an assassination attempt during a rally last year. The PTI has called on the Supreme Court to take notice of the threat to Khan’s life.
