South Carolina Senator Tim Scott is running for president of the United States as a Republican candidate. He aims to protect American values and the American way of life, which he believes is under threat from Joe Biden’s Democrats. Scott has spent months campaigning across the states, emphasizing his Christian faith and unique perspective as the only African American on the Republican side of the US Senate. He comes from a single parent household and has risen from poverty to become one of the country’s most influential conservatives.

Scott faces a challenging task in matching former president Donald Trump’s national profile. Recent polls show his support at under two percent, which is 54 points behind Trump. Other candidates running for president include Nikki Haley, Asa Hutchinson, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Larry Elder, who is the first African American to enter the race.

The official campaign announcement of Trump’s biggest rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, is expected on Wednesday. Trump wished Scott luck while taking a swipe at DeSantis, calling him “totally unelectable.” Scott is considered one of the Senate’s most formidable fundraisers and has around $22 million to use for his campaign. He has the notable backing of Senate Republican number two John Thune, who called him “the real deal.”

Scott believes that he can become the first black Republican US president and inspire others to believe that anything is possible. He plans to meet donors and head to Iowa and New Hampshire, where he has already reserved $6 million worth of advertising.
