Manipur civil society leaders hold talks with Amit Shah in Imphal

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday visited Churachandpur, the scene of some of the worst rioting in the recent ethnic conflict which broke out in Manipur earlier this month, to hold talks with Kuki civil society leaders.

UK MP Bob Blackman has condemned the recent attack on the Indian High Commission in London by Khalistani hooligans, calling it a “disgrace” and urging the government to hold terrorists accountable. This is the sixth time in as many years that the High Commission has been attacked. Blackman raised the issue in the House of Commons and requested a debate on what action can be taken to ensure that these terrorists are held to account and banned in the country. Similar attacks have been carried out in Canada, the US, and Australia. The UK government has assured the House of Commons that it takes the security of the Indian High Commission seriously and is in close contact with the Government of India on this issue. Khalistani terrorists have increased their attacks against Indians living abroad, members of the Indian diaspora, and Sikhs who do not adhere to their separatist ideology.
