Dr Makunuru Sanjay Kumar, MLA of Jagtial constituency, won re-election with over 15,000 votes. He was born in Anthargam village in Jagtial district and studied medicine in Vijayawada and Karnataka. Dr. Sanjay Kumar has been serving the community as an ophthalmologist for 30 years, organizing free medical camps and performing thousands of surgeries for free.
Despite entering politics ten years ago, he continues to provide free eye surgeries daily, aiming to do a thousand surgeries for free each year. His dedication to public service and focus on development and welfare initiatives led to his victory in the recent elections, where he defeated the Congress candidate with a substantial majority.
Under his leadership, Jagtial has seen significant improvements, including the establishment of a medical college, construction of hospitals, distribution of double bedroom houses, and modernization of irrigation systems. Dr. Sanjay Kumar’s commitment to education is evident through the establishment of colleges and schools across the constituency, as well as the beautification of government schools.
His efforts to improve rural and urban infrastructure, along with his focus on community development, have further solidified his support among constituents. Dr. Sanjay Kumar recently joined the Congress party to continue working towards the progress and development of the constituency.
