Raising Awareness on Value-Added Food Products for Farmers

On the fifth day of the National Service Scheme (NSS) camp in Thoodukurthi village, Nagarkurnool Mandal, students from Palem Agricultural College took part in various activities. The day began with a visit to the LV Prasad Eye Institute Hospital. Here, the students observed the local healthcare services and interacted with patients to learn about the eye problems faced by the rural villagers. They also asked about the services offered by the eye hospital in the area.

In another activity, the students aimed to improve public health awareness by teaching farmers about the production of value-added food products. They demonstrated how to make pineapple juice and explained its health benefits. During this session, they also discussed the importance of value-added food products and held interactive talks with the villagers.

As part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the students organized a cleanliness drive in the village. They cleaned the surroundings of the eye hospital, removing weeds and congress grass. Through this, they highlighted the importance of maintaining clean public spaces.

The camp activities were guided and coordinated by Palem Agricultural College NSS Program Officers Dr. Eetela Satyanarayana and Dr. Sadhana. They helped the students throughout the program and ensured everything ran smoothly.
