On August 4, police received intelligence about a Uttar Pradesh-registered Mahindra Bolero pick-up truck carrying a large load of ganja from Odisha. The truck was expected to travel through Thondapalli village in Shamshabad on the Bangalore National Highway between 3 pm and 6 pm.

By 1 pm, a team was set up with surveillance vehicles and equipment. At 5 pm, they stopped the vehicle near the Jama Masjid on Shamshabad Road.

They arrested Khilla Dhana and Rajendar, both from Malkangiri district, Odisha. The investigation revealed a well-organized trafficking network.

Ramesh Sukri, who is currently on the run, coordinated the operation from Malkangiri. He was linked to Dhana and Rajendar through local connections. Jagadish Kuldeep, his associate, bought large amounts of ganja from growers like Shibo Shiba and Basu in remote forests.

The main buyer, ShaffiqShafi from Uttar Pradesh, placed big orders and sent vehicles with UP registration. He managed payments through couriers and complex transfers to hide the transactions.
