Telangana is experiencing heavy rain, causing significant flooding across multiple districts. Many low-lying areas are underwater, with overflowing streams and rivers. Traffic has come to a halt, and numerous train services are canceled due to submerged roads.

In Medak district, rainfall has reached unexpected levels, with Sardana in Havelighanapur mandal receiving an astonishing 30 cm in one day. Other areas like Nagpur recorded 27 cm, Chegunta 22 cm, and Ramayampet mandal 20 cm. The continuous rain forced the suspension of bus services between Medak, Bodhan, and Banswada. Many neighborhoods in Ramayampet mandal are flooded, and rescue teams are helping stranded residents.

Pocharam Dam, on the Kamareddy-Medak border, is at risk of overflowing. Authorities have evacuated people from low-lying areas in Sardana and Jakkanapet villages. A center for evacuees is set up at a function hall near Havelighanapur. Many residents left their homes overnight. District Collector Rahul Raj announced a holiday for all schools in the district. Residents should only go out for emergencies and can call 93919 42254 for help.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will visit the district today to evaluate the flood situation. He plans to inspect the affected areas and meet with officials to discuss actions needed. The CM urges everyone to stay alert and report problems to authorities quickly.

Meteorologists predict ongoing heavy rain in Telangana due to a low-pressure system. Warnings for heavy to very heavy rain are in place for the northern, eastern, and central regions of the state. An orange warning is issued for northern districts, while a yellow warning covers the eastern and central areas. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) areas might also see heavy rain intermittently.
