The election code is now active in Telangana due to the Jubilee Hills bypoll in Hyderabad and local elections throughout the state.
As a result, all welfare and development projects are temporarily paused. Across the state, police are conducting thorough vehicle checks. Any cash amount exceeding Rs. 50,000 without proper documentation will be confiscated.
Local elections will occur in five stages. MPTC elections are scheduled in two phases, while Sarpanch elections will happen in three phases. The entire election process is set to conclude by November 11.
During this period, government officials are prohibited from launching new programs or organizing events that might sway voters. District officials will ensure compliance with these regulations.
The election code is applicable only in rural regions and not in urban areas, allowing regular government activities to proceed in cities.
The Jubilee Hills bypoll is slated for November 11, with vote counting on November 14. The election code will be enforced in Hyderabad until November 14. Police will continue vehicle checks and seize cash over Rs. 50,000 lacking valid papers.
