The school takes its name from the concept of three interconnected elements that shape a child’s development. Thraya represents the partnership between teachers, parents, and community working together. This philosophy also embraces the Waldorf approach of developing the head, heart, and hands through comprehensive education.

Waldorf education has guided students worldwide for more than 100 years. This teaching method emphasizes imagination, nature connection, daily rhythms, and practical learning experiences. The founders have carefully adapted these principles to fit Indian culture and the specific needs of Hyderabad families.

Two dedicated educators brought this vision to reality. Meenu Talasila earned her MPhil in Education from Cambridge University and has worked extensively as an education specialist, trainer, administrator, and researcher. Her partner Bharath Pavuluri graduated with an engineering degree from The Ohio State University and brings valuable experience in sustainability and energy-efficiency projects.

The school’s curriculum follows natural child development patterns rather than forcing artificial timelines. Nature-based learning forms a core component of daily activities. Students spend significant time outdoors, connecting classroom lessons with real-world environmental experiences.

The Janwada campus reflects careful attention to creating an inspiring learning environment. Native plants, fruit trees, and vegetable gardens provide hands-on agricultural experiences integrated into academic subjects. Classrooms feature natural lighting and ventilation to support healthy learning conditions.

Artistic elements throughout the campus encourage creativity and self-expression. The school operates a full-service kitchen that prepares fresh, nutritious meals daily, ensuring students receive proper nutrition to support their learning and growth.

During the opening ceremony, the founders emphasized their commitment to creating a nurturing learning community. They believe education should be both meaningful and joyful, allowing each student to progress at their individual pace without pressure or comparison.

Thraya aims to become a leading example of holistic education in the region. The school honors the natural stages of childhood while preparing students to succeed in an increasingly complex and changing world. This approach balances academic excellence with emotional and creative development.

The location in Janwada, just 10 minutes from Kokapet, makes the school accessible to families throughout the greater Hyderabad area. The founders selected this site specifically for its natural setting and proximity to the growing residential communities in the region.
