Telangana has introduced upgraded MeeSeva certificate stationery designed to make government documents more durable and secure. IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu launched the tear-resistant stationery, which is intended for certificates and other essential records issued through public services.
The paper is specially engineered to better resist tearing and physical damage. It is also water-resistant, offering added protection against accidental exposure to water.
The new stationery includes 15 security features to strengthen document authenticity and help prevent counterfeiting and unauthorised duplication. The features are intended to improve safeguards for certificates that citizens use for personal, educational, legal and official purposes.
Birth and death certificates, along with other government records, may need to be kept for many years. The upgraded paper is designed to help citizens preserve these documents in better condition. Its durability may also reduce the need for lamination under normal handling and storage conditions.
The change is part of the Telangana government’s effort to improve public services through practical technology upgrades. The initiative focuses on making citizen services more secure, accessible and convenient.
Minister D. Sridhar Babu emphasised that government certificates are valuable records on which citizens rely throughout their lives, and highlighted the importance of their authenticity, security and durability.
