The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) fenced more than two acres of government land worth ₹400 crore at Khanamet village in Madhapur, Rangareddy district, on Thursday.
The agency acted on a request from revenue officials. The officials sought its help after repeated attempts to encroach on the land.
HYDRAA Commissioner A V Ranganath directed officials to remove the blue-sheet fencing put up by the encroachers. He also instructed them to secure the property.
Revenue officials had earlier faced resistance while trying to protect the land. Some people allegedly built a compound wall and tried to occupy the property. Revenue officials intervened at that time.
Even so, the attempts to encroach on the land continued. The latest attempt involved putting up blue-sheet fencing around the government property.
This led revenue officials to seek HYDRAA’s intervention. The agency’s team then removed the fencing and took control of the site.
Officials also installed boards identifying the property as government land. They put up the boards in the presence of revenue officials.
