The Telangana Government has begun a comprehensive land resurvey in three phases to build a “land-dispute-free Telangana”. The exercise, carried out under the vision of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, aims to give every land parcel clear ownership rights and precise boundaries.

The first phase covers 2,720 villages across 32 districts, excluding Hyderabad. The government has set a target to complete this phase by November-end.

So far, the resurvey has been completed in 285 revenue villages. Officials have issued notices to landowners in these villages, asking them to submit objections. The government has already procured 411 rovers for the work. Tenders have been finalised for 400 more advanced rovers to speed up accurate, technology-driven surveys.

The survey will use modern DGPS, GIS and QGIS technologies in place of outdated measurement methods. These tools will digitise survey records and help prevent future boundary disputes. Every land parcel will also get a unique Bhudhaar number and a Bhudhaar card, which will bring more transparency and clarity to ownership records.

Bhudhaar cards will be distributed soon in the Palair constituency. This follows the 100% resurvey of 665 acres in Kongara village of Nelakondapalli mandal.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy directed officials to give advance notices to landowners. He also asked them to ensure proper demarcation of government lands and village boundaries, and to resolve objections transparently.

The mission will address decades-old land-record problems, many of which stem from outdated survey records. It is also expected to reduce complications in land transactions, registrations and mutations. The government describes the exercise as a step towards protecting farmers’ interests and safeguarding property rights through science, technology and transparent governance.
