District Collector G Ravi Nayak unveiled a poster in Mahbubnagar to spread awareness about malaria, a deadly disease spread by mosquitoes. The poster was released on the occasion of World Malaria Day on April 25. The Collector emphasized the importance of identifying and removing stagnant water in the surrounding areas of houses, as well as useless containers, tires, broken buckets and troughs. In case of rain, rainwater should be drained immediately. He also instructed officials to desilt canals and install motors to remove water in areas where it is stored.

The Collector also stressed the importance of conducting fogging, garbage and debris cleaning, and removing dirty drains. Every Friday is observed as watering day for plants in the district, and the Collector advised municipal officials to ensure that there are no mosquito breeding grounds in the district.
